
In Indonesia, sexual violence is a taboo issue. But in a border city like Batam, cases of sex trafficking and sexual assault are some of the most numerous in the country. For 20-year-old Ria Febriyanti, defying that taboo is what drives her work at an NGO that assists women victims—and her own recovery from a past incident of abuse.
